BACKGROUND

Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) is the largest crude oil and natural gas exploration company representing approximately 35% of total Libyan crude oil production. Gas turbine at Mesla oil field running on the obsolete gas turbine controller MK-II while it was proposed by OEM to upgrade to latest control system at then and same was supplied to them in the year 2007 while couldn’t be commissioned due to multiple reasons. 

 

SOLUTION

Having strong track record on operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, installation and commission of GE Speedtronic control system and Brush AVR system, TCCS took up the challenge to install and commission long stranded Mark VI Control system while the scope also included major inspection of Frame 5 Gas turbine, turbine complete rewiring and inspection of Brush make generator which was performed simultaneously to control system upgrade in order to reduce downtime.
