BACKGROUND

Ras Lanuf Oil and Gas Processing Company (RASCO) is a subsidiary of the state-owned National Oil Corporation of Libya. Being the largest oil refinery in the country, producing petroleum products like fuel oil, gas oil, LPG, naphtha and kerosene further meeting the countries requirement.

Captive power generation facility was equipped with obsolete gas turbine controller and other system making it less reliable and efficient towards operators and system users.

SOLUTION

TCCS replaced the obsolete control system with state-of-the-art turbine controllers built with the most advanced programmable controller platforms available today—these systems are designed using the latest in distributed control philosophy. With hardware independent approach, one can use technology and parts already common to their plant. TCCS also upgraded the Generator Control / Protection / Auxiliary Panels in addition offering new automizing air compressor and cooling water system. TCCS perform the upgradation of turbine and generator control in parallel to Frame 5 gas turbine major inspection further reducing the downtime.
